The Mulberry Fire Department began in the middle 1970's. The front part of the "Woodsmen of the World" building was renovated into a station house. A 1978 Chevrolet pickup that had been converted into a mini pumper was the first truck in operation. The Station still uses this same truck.

With proceeds from the sale of the old Mulberry School Building, the Department was able to purchase and equip a 1978 Ford Tanker.
